FADE RIFT.

Interests: Action is A+! Anything involving darkspawn, archdemons (and lookalikes!), abominations and fighting them would be grand. Of course, it wouldn't be the Inquisition without having to participate in some courtly intrigue either, which would also be a welcome sight. Corrupting the innocent with terrible games of Wicked Grace and other cute downtime events would be excellent, too.

Personality
Despite her rather petite frame, Yuna does not back down from a challenge even with the odds stacked against her. She stands her ground regardless of personal consequence, but in that same vein, would never consider putting her loved ones in danger. She is stubborn in the sense that she would rather carry the weight of the world on her own shoulders than ask for help. If it something that she truly believes she can handle, she is more inclined to keep it to herself, choosing not to involve anyone else. This trait goes so far as to become physically embodied when she confesses that as she grew up, when she was sad or upset, she would practice smiling.
She encourages her friends to express themselves openly, and in new ways as she discovers them herself. It is thanks to her new found guardian that these changes seem to start to take place, as at first she seems to be almost shocked by his need to scream out loud -- and can later be found jokingly belting out embarrassing "HA! HA! HA's" a short while later. When someone she cares about is upset, she puts her efforts towards trying them to overcome their sadness instead. She admits that she wants her journey to be "filled with laughter."
While it's obvious that she seems rather introverted, recently she seems to be beginning to open up little by little, revealing a few more quirks about what it is that drives her onward. She is polite and good-natured, choosing to focus on the positives that life has to offer. Yuna cares a great deal for the people of Spira, and can think of no greater gift to give them than the Calm. There is a memory that stays with her since childhood -- upon the bridge in Bevelle. Everyone in the city laughing, smiling -- celebrating... in her own words, "everyone was so happy."
Yuna possesses, and invests great faith into the people and principles around her, evidenced both by trusting her guardians with her life, and her devotion to Yevon. She is fiercely loyal, and even when confronted with earth-shattering news about her faith, continues to take steps in order to find out the truth for herself, as she seems unable to just so readily accept that everything she believed in was a so warped. Throughout her journey, she is determined to witness the truth, and confront it, with her own eyes.
She can be rather naive, but certainly isn't stupid. While she does believe whole-heartedly in the Teachings and what they stand for... she also knows that some of the things they claim aren't exactly right. The Al Bhed are a perfect example of this, as she obviously does not believe them to be heathens or blasphemers, at least certainly not to the degree the Temple makes them out to be. She has a strong sense of right and wrong, even if it goes "against the rules" at times.
Strengths & Weaknesses
STRENGTHS
Yuna is a combination of a white mage and summoner. She specializes in curative magic, with her arsenal including high level healing spells (cure, cura, curaga, regen), protective magics (protect, shell, reflect and nul-elemental shields). She is able to cure and dispel (esuna & dispel) most status ailments... that she is familiar with in Spira, at least, as well as re-invigorating those that have been knocked out on the field (life). Her most powerful, and really only, offensive spell is the devastating light-aligned spell, Holy.
Being that she has travelled all over her homeworld on a summoner's pilgrimage, Yuna has seen her fair share of battles and fiends. She is no stranger to a fight and works very well as support from the back lines. Her faith in those that she has come to trust is unwavering, making her a trustworthy ally even in the most trying of times. With what onlookers describe as a "will stronger than steel' she will not shy away from a fight and stands her ground for the sake of others quite well...
WEAKNESSES
... Unless you're expecting her to pick up a sword and strike with it. Not exactly the most physically inclined of attackers, even though she is willing to rush forward to make a strike against the enemy, that doesn't mean it's a good idea. Close-range fighting has a very slim chance of ending well for her. She relies on her magical prowess and her aeons in confrontations, and without those abilities could easily be overcome. And let's not forget that just casting spells and summoning over and over again is a recipe for disaster, since that MP doesn't exactly last forever and could easily run out when pushed too far.
Further to all this, Yuna is described by one of her guardians as being "naive, serious to a fault, and doesn't ask for help." All of these things could be considered weaknesses as far as fighting to save the world goes. As someone that wants to see the inherent good in others, she is often very quick to trust, and could very well wind up in a questionable situation. The danger in that also lies in her inability to burden others with her troubles, so if something were to happen she becomes determined to get herself out of it, on her own. The unfortunate truth of the matter is that she has very little regard for her own life and well-being...

Fit
First and foremost the plot point that comes to mind is the mage controversy of Theads. Coming from a world where magic is pretty much whole-heartedly embraced, Yuna will have to quickly learn that being a mage isn't all sunshine and posies. Bonus points if she gets involved in some nasty Templar business since she's essentially an apostate. Due to her current canon point as well she'd likely be weary of all things Chantry-related. Abominations, Circles and the Tranquil, oh my! All of these things would come as a shock to her and all would be wonderful for her to have to deal, or come to terms with. Tranquillity in particular would likely not sit right with her. The Fade? Sure does sound like a twisted version of the Farplane where shit gets real!
Fighting darkspawn and the like is also something that she would be heavily into, echoing her canon of disposing of Sinspawn. Discovering the Grey Wardens (and possibly joining them if this is possible) purpose would be something she'd be quite interested in also, as well as the Mortalitasi and their duties, considering her link to sending the dead as well. Of course, I also love getting her into questionable situations with demons... heheh...
SAMPLES
Just -- what sort of place was this? It was true that Skyhold felt safe, and she had been more than grateful that those in charge had offered to take her, among many others it seemed, into their service. The Inquisition... that was what they called themselves, wasn't it? Wanting more than anything to return their kindness, she had offered her services in the infirmary almost immediately, tending to the sick and wounded.
But as she sat on her knees next to the latest victim whose life she hadn't been able to save... she bowed her head in respect, reflecting on what more she could have done. Upon her arrival, she had offered similar help to someone that she had met along the way, only to have them limp off with an intense fear in their eyes, shouting something about "Apostate! Help!!" as he fled. At the time, she had had no idea what he'd meant but now, the reality was setting in... mages here -- were a thing to be feared.
Reaching to cover the deceased's face with a gentle touch, Yuna rested it softly on the victim's eyelids, pulling them closed. "I'm sorry..." she whispered quietly, sure that the words would never be heard by the dead.
What good was her magic if not to heal? What purpose could she serve within the Inquisition if there were those that feared her abilities? Lifting herself from the ground, the regarded her patient with one last solemn nod, then turned to leave, readying herself for the next. But as she turned, she thought she had caught a wisp of something... a young man? A large hat? Blond hair? But he was gone in an instant. Spinning in the opposite direction, she could have sworn she caught sight of him again, but no... there was no one.
Her eyes must have been playing tricks on her. Shaking her head out in an attempt to clear the cobwebs from the corners of her mind, she suddenly became aware of a sharp poke in her hand. With a soft, "Ouch," she looked down, turning her hand over to find... a needle? Silk thread for stitching? Where had...?
Perhaps... there were ways that she could learn to help the fallen without her magic, after all.
